Sustainability Matters
Our sustainability initiatives are designed to ensure that while we innovate and expand, we also safeguard the future of our planet.
Our Commitment to a Balanced Future
At ikanesia, sustainability is integral to our operations. We are committed to aligning business growth with environmental responsibility, ensuring that innovation supports long-term ecological preservation.
Our efforts are focused on measurable outcomes, including reducing carbon emissions and achieving zero waste. By setting these ambitious goals, we aim to create lasting value for both our business and the environment.
Our Sustainability Programs

ikanesia is proud to collaborate with Yayasan BUMN and ANGIN in our 2024 initiative to empower local communities in Kebalen, Bekasi Regency.
Our project aims to develop a blue economy in Kebalen by focusing on four main areas: fish farmer empowerment, women entrepreneurship, nutrition interventions and creating new entrepreneurs.
As part of this initiative, ikanesia is revolutionizing milkfish farming in Bekasi Regency by introducing a low-carbon feed solution. The program operates on a barter system, where feed is exchanged for a share of the harvest. The harvested milkfish is processed into presto milkfish, with 70% sold at an affordable price and 30% distributed to local schools and malnourished children in Kebalen.
In collaboration with the Berikan Protein Initiative and State University of Jakarta (UNJ), alongside our valued partners, we are building a future where sustainability, community empowerment, and youth health are interconnected. Together, we are driving meaningful change—step by step, toward a brighter, healthier tomorrow.

We are thrilled to announce that our consortium; Berikanesia Lestari (ikanesia, Berikan Protein Initiative and Selaras Muba Lestari), has been recognized as a key driver of change in Belitung Island, as part of an impact initiative organized by GoTo Impact Foundation, Instellar Indonesia, and ANGIN.
This recognition underscores our dedication to transforming the local economy, addressing food issues, stunting growth, and driving sustainability through innovative fish farming solutions in former tin mining areas. The program is implemented in Q1 2025.
In Belitung, we are working to restore abandoned tin mining holes by introducing sustainable aquaculture systems combined with microalgae-based bioremediation.
These ponds are being repurposed for fish farming, particularly tilapia, supported by affordable, locally sourced feed made from fish waste, agricultural by-products, and insects.
Beyond aquaculture, the program aims to empower local communities—especially women and small entrepreneurs—by building value chains in fish processing, feed production, and eco-friendly product development.
Together, these efforts not only strengthen food security and reduce stunting but also create new livelihoods while reviving Belitung’s degraded ecosystems.
